With elliptical trainers just as, if not more, popular than fitness treadmills these days for that full body aerobic workout that targets both the upper and lower body, we have decided to compile this list of the Top Ten Elliptical Trainers to help you decide on your purchase.

It has been proven that buying exercise fitness machines online provides you with a whole lot more benefits — compared to buying from your local fitness store — such as lower prices, the best deals, letting your fingers “do the comparison shopping”, extended warranty plans, accessory recommendations, user reviews and, more often than not, free shipping so have fun with this list!

To view complete information on each elliptical trainer, just click on any of the product images in the Top Picks carousel, or on the individual product links we have included below:

#1 Gazelle Edge

Jojoleb – A great little machine (no pun intended) – “After purchasing, I feel like I’ve hit the jackpot. The machine was easy to assemble, given its simple mechanism and few working parts. It offers a reasonable, comfortable workout and is remarkably stable. It also folds down flat for storage and weighs only about 40 lbs. It also requires little room to use. The manual recommends 3 feet in front and behind the machine, but 2 ? seemed to suffice for me. So far my machine is remarkably smooth and silent. There have been reports of squeaking, but I have not experienced this. The manual suggests lubing the machine with vasoline if this occurs… Despite the fact that Tony Little makes annoying infomercials, I think he has a winner in this machine.”

#2 Schwinn 430 Elliptical Trainer

K. Wheeler – Fantastic piece of equipment for the price! – “My husband and I finished off a bottle of wine before assembling the unit. : ) It only took us an hour and a half to assemble, and our kids were running around like a couple of nuts during the process. After we finished the assembly, we both took a turn on a preset program. The machine is extremely sturdy, quiet, and worked like a charm – just like a unit found at a gym. We’re extremely pleased with our purchase and would recommend it to anyone!”

#3 Schwinn 431 Elliptical Trainer

F. Finney – “I have just recently purchased the Schwinn 431 Elliptical Trainer. I did quite a bit of research on the various models before making my decision. I can only say that this Elliptical Trainer is the very best for its’ price range. In fact, it is better than many of the higher priced machines that are available. One of the deciding factors is that this model has the 25 lb. flywheel, which makes the operation very smooth and helps to stabilize the machine. It is very well constructed, very smooth, and very quiet. I put it together in an hour and a half. It was money well spent! I would definitely recommend this model for in-home use. Best of all, it’s made in the U.S.A.”

#4 Stamina 55-1610 InMotion E1000 Elliptical Trainer

B. Ludwig – Love this little machine… – “I had mixed feelings about purchasing this because of its size and I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to get a good cardio on it. Boy was I wrong. When I workout on this my heart rate ranges from 145-160 which is exactly where I want it to be. It’s very sturdy but does take a little getting used to as far as balancing on it but you can get a great workout from it. The strides are much smaller than what you find in a gym but that’s expected. I think it’s a very effective piece of equipment for the price.”

#5 Eclipse 1100 HR/A Elliptical Trainer

Javid – great in home machine -”We needed something more than our treadmill and Gazelle. My wife saw this unit at an open house so we did some research on-line. It received high marks so we ordered it on-line. It was easy to put together but it does have some mass to it which is a good thing. We have been using it for 2 months and it is almost everything you could want in a home ellipse trainer without breaking the bank. My only wish is the electronics could be powered from the wall versus batteries (4C). We have since looked at many units costing more (~$200+) and they were cheap, flimsy and light. This unit is solid and really gives you a great workout. I have lost 10 lbs so far. I would highly recommend it.”

#6 Stamina Air Resistance Cross Trainer

RayTamz – Fantastic! Well worth the money! – “This product is fantastic. I am on a budget and have been wanting one of these for years. I was so afraid I was going to end up wasting my money on something that would be junk. First off, it shipped really fast, and I got it in just a few short days. I’m so glad I bought this. I’m sure there are ones out there that are fancier, but if what you’re looking for is a good workout on a budget, this is perfect. It rides smooth, is not noisy, holds up well with my six children playing all over it. The display is great and tells me everything I need. I didn’t have any trouble putting it together either. I drag this all over my house and workout wherever my kids are at the time. It’s great, I love it, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an Elliptical.

#7 Schwinn 460 Variable Stride Elliptical Trainer

Michael – Well built, a little different, works you out – “Now for the variable stride. Honestly its a little different. It’s definitely not the same as a regular elliptical. However it is kind of neat, I like the fact that I can push a little harder and stretch my stride a little longer when I get that extra burst of energy, and I can slow down and take smaller “steps” when I get tired. You’ll quickly find a “normal” range for yourself and will probably stay within that range most of the time. I dont know what it is about this machine but it does work you out pretty well. And its quite fun.”

#8 Elliptical Cross Trainer with Computer

K. Gonzalez – Great value!! – “At first, I was a bit leary ordering a piece of exercise equipment through the mail, and an inexpensive one to boot, but I could not be more pleased. This peice was relatively easy to put together (I did it one evening while my husband was out of town.)It is a great peice of exercise equiment too–the first I’ve ever stuck with using–now for almost three months. The only criticism I have is the instructions did not provide any information about the computer–it works, but I’m not sure if the measurement is in meters, etc.”

#9 Gazelle Freestyle

C. Villa – Good workout – “This is a good workout for anyone. You can choose to do excercises that are easy or intense. I like that it folds up nicely for easy storage. I have had my gazelle for over two years and its still working great.”

#10 Sole E35 Elliptical Trainer (2009 Model)

A. Miller – Amazing! “DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON ANOTHER MACHINE. THIS ONE IS TOP OF THE LINE. I researched ellipticals for 2 months before buying the sole e35. I chose it because of the 20″ stride, the ecb braking system, the power incline, and the 5 yr warranty and 2 years labor warranty. I got it yesterday, so today was my 2nd day using it. It is quiet and smooth. One of my pedals is a little squeaky but I barely notice it. The machine is huge and the fan is very small. But neither of those things would turn me off of buying this elliptical. I am confident that I made the right decesion & I look forward to using the machine everyday!”
